Ana Intercontinental Ishigaki Resort

Our room was spacious and well equipped, with a great view for watching the sunset. We ate at several of the resort's restaurants and enjoyed every meal. Saltida's breakfast buffet had a wide selection, including local dishes, and the staff were attentive to what we needed. It was my first visit to Ishigaki, and I'm glad we chose this place. It wasn't peak season, but we still spent lots of time at the beach and in the beautiful pool. My partner arranged for the staff to deliver a birthday cake specially at midnight. It was unforgettable, and I'd definitely stay here again next time.

We loved our four nights in the Bay Wing during our Ishigaki trip between Tokyo and Seoul. The surroundings and views were beautiful, and our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom had privacy doors, the beds were softer than the other hotel beds we'd slept in around Japan, and the staff were so friendly and attentive that we felt looked after the whole time. We used the free parking and daily room cleaning, and liked the quick elevators. Laundry is on odd floors and ice machines on even floors. Resort guests also get discounts at the nearby golf course. The paid breakfast buffet had plenty of delicious choices, including vegetarian options. We also enjoyed the Saltido dinner buffet and its free-flow drinks. The resort has two wings. The Ocean Wing is an easy walk away, or you can ask the bellman for a ride by golf cart or van. The Bay Wing seemed to have mostly adults, while the Ocean Wing had more children and activities for them. One inconvenience was that the convenience and souvenir shop was in the other wing, so we had to walk over whenever we wanted a quick snack or drink. Since it was low season, many pool and activity options were closed, leaving fewer extra things to do. We'd highly recommend staying here and would choose it again.

The bunk bed room was great, but it didn't have a balcony where we could dry clothes or sit out in the evening. There was live music during our stay. Some things felt like a money grab. Our plan included the third night free with breakfast, but the kids still had to pay for breakfast. They also asked us for an optional beach cleaning fee while we were using the beach. The swimming beach doesn't have a nearby reef, so snorkeling wasn't very impressive, although we did manage to see a sea turtle. The hotel was quite good overall, but we liked another one on the west coast better.

Gagan, the restaurant manager at Saltida, made our meals feel special. He took such thoughtful care of my parents, and that meant a lot to our family. Everyone else, from the front desk to housekeeping, was warm and professional too. We were very comfortable in the Bay Wing. The rooms were spacious, well equipped, and clearly well maintained. We also made good use of the self-service laundry, heated indoor pool, and lovely outdoor pool. We had a wonderful stay at ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Resort and would gladly return. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Ishigaki.
