There are hiking trails around the mountains and dams, and the few shops nearby have what you need. It’s a quiet little town, so this onsen hotel suited our school trip well. Our rooms were cozy, and dinner and breakfast had been prepared for us. A nice place for a peaceful mountain stay.

The rooftop Onsen was a highlight, and I was comfortable in the room. I also really enjoyed the meals. I’d recommend this Inn.

The staff were among the warmest and most welcoming I’ve encountered in Japan. We were here for one night for the Jimendashi (snow digging) competition, and they even let us use the onsen after checkout, once we’d come back wet and covered in snow. The outdoor bath was very hot, just right for winter. I’d love to stay again!

For a mountain-area place, I liked that the dishes were mostly herbs and freshwater fish, with no sea fish sashimi. The outdoor onsen bath was lovely.

The bath room was very clean, with both indoor and outdoor baths. I came for a day trip, and the water was a milky green with no smell.
