The views are lovely from every room I've stayed in, and my favorite time to see them is the evening. I've visited this hotel once a year, and last year I went after hearing it would close for reconstruction starting this year. I expect my next visit will be in three years, once it's completed. Looking forward to that.

Even though we arrived close to midnight, the staff went to great lengths to welcome us. They're top tier, and the views of both the mountains and ocean/lake are spectacular. The Japanese breakfast buffet was a highlight, and that was just the first morning. A real 5 star hotel.

The people here are wonderful, and so are all the little comforts. The spacious rooms are comfortable and have great views. Toiletries are spa quality, and the pyjamas, tea, and coffee are all top quality too. Even the bathrooms feel like a spa, and they provide bath salts to enjoy. The face masks were out of this world, made with local lemons from the Setouchi area. Everything about this place is lovely!!!

The restaurants are amazing, and the staff are very attentive. The 8 seater sushi restaurant is in a separate building from the main one and has 1 michelin star, so you'll need to book far in advance. It's an amazing resort and such a nice, relaxing stay. I'll definitely come back!

The views from this hilltop hotel over the Seto Inland Sea are spectacular. Rooms are large and well appointed, with comfortable beds and Bulgari bath products. The pool deck and infinity pool are awesome, and the finishes are high quality. Service was friendly and generally attentive. At this price, though, I expected a more polished experience. Rooms cost $330+ per night and a latte was $9. The service and finishes weren't quite as refined as at similarly priced hotels like Park Hyatt, St. Regis, and Four Seasons, especially for a second- or third-tier location.
