Hotel Beacon Onomichi

You’re right outside onomichi train station, which is super convenient. The hotel is above 7eleven, and it’s a two-minute walk to bike rental for the shimanami kaido route. There’s no microwave for guests to use, but if you ask, staff will heat your food in their own microwave.

I loved both Onomichi and this hotel. We stayed two nights, and it was so easy to get off the train and check straight in. I stayed in a Cycle room, which was a decent size and had enough space to open two or three suitcases. It was beautiful, had great amenities, and the beds were comfortable. Every staff member gave outstanding service. 100% recommended.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a cozy sitting area where we could unwind after a long day. It was clean, convenient, and well thought out, with easy access to town or the Shimanami Kaido ride. You’re right on top of Onomichi Station, so arriving, leaving, or setting off on your ride is easy. There’s an elevator just outside the station that takes you up to the second floor when you come out of Onomichi Eki.

The best part of our stay was the helpful, friendly team at Beacon. At check-in I realized I’d lost my cellphone. They called several places and checked the station’s lost and found. They helped me stay calm, and within two hours they’d tracked it down in another prefecture and arranged to send it to my next hotel. Thanks again to the Beacon team! The hotel itself is great, too: stylish rooms, spotless clean, and in the best location above the main train station.
