The room was difficult to find, and the stairs were dark. The balcony was dirty, and the bathtub was grimy and rough, like it hadn't been cleaned. There was a terrible smell when I walked in, and the place felt filthy, nothing like the website photos. The pajamas were worn out, and the hostel felt more like a warehouse. I was afraid to use the air conditioner because it was so dirty. It made an otherwise wonderful trip miserable. I've never had this many problems with a place, and I won't stay here again.

Finding the place takes a little effort, so don't rush. I had a private room with a handmade look, but it was clean, stylish, and had a nice atmosphere. There was a tent on the balcony that seems great for warmer weather. Roomwear was provided, the bedding was mostly comfortable, and the shower was great. I didn't try the sauna, which may cost extra. The table was small, so an extra little table would have been handy.

Our family had a wonderful holiday in the Japanese-style rooftop room, a comfortable, elegant space tucked into an alley. There was a large bed, a single bed with a day-mat, and an upper bunk, plus a small table and chairs for meals and drinks. The spacious bathroom had a sauna and two big soaking tubs, so we could all enjoy bathing together. We also loved relaxing and barbecuing on the outdoor terrace.

The family room blends Japanese beauty with Western comfort, and the garden looks lovely lit up at night. Calling this a guesthouse seems odd, it feels more like a suite at a modern resort hotel abroad. It'd be amazing for a girls' night or a honeymoon. The entrance is a bit hard to spot, so look carefully.
