The rooms are beautiful, and the bathrooms feel luxurious. The location is handy too, just a few minutes on foot from the local museums and temples, across the road from a convenience store, and close to the shimanami kaido. What really stood out was how considerate the hospitality was. There was a booking mistake, and the owners came out from home late at night to bring us towels and amenities and set up another bed.

The owner was incredibly kind during our one-night stay at Singai Cabin. My friend and I were traveling in Japan, and they helped forward our luggage to another hotel in Kyoto. Our room was very nice, with lovely sheets, air conditioning to keep us cool, and welcome amenities. There are two coin washers and two coin dryers in the building. I believe washing cost 300 yen, with detergent added automatically, and drying was 100 yen for 30 minutes. The owner also runs a restaurant/cafe in the same building. The food and drinks were delicious and very reasonably priced. I'd definitely recommend staying here 😁

The place was clean, comfortable, quiet, and conveniently located, with fresh towels provided each day. The common room felt cozy, but there was no kitchen. I never saw any staff, and the whole setup felt pretty industrial, with every interaction handled on a touchscreen at the entrance.

It was the off season, and I practically had the hostel to myself. I never saw a staff member, which made the stay feel surreal, but I didn't mind. The common area was beautiful, the showers and bathroom were clean, and the beds were comfortable. It's in one of the quieter parts of town, and was easily one of the best hostels I've stayed in in Japan. I'll come back if I'm in Onomichi again.

The place is clean, nice, and affordable, though it feels more like a hostel than a hotel. I got a private room with its own shower and toilet. It's a 20-25 minute walk from the station. The owner might not be there, and I was told to go to a nearby izakaya. There I learned it was cash only, so someone escorted me to an ATM, but that one only worked with Japan specific cards and I was then taken to a 7-11, back closer to town. From arriving at the hotel to finally getting into my room took nearly an hour. WTF. They should say in advance that it's cash only.
