Feb 2026. The onsen is nice and spacious, and there was a complimentary minibar in our room. The rooms were very clean and spacious compared with most hotels in Japan, making this a very good halfway stop on the Shimanami Kaido bike path. We parked our bikes in the hotel’s private, uncovered rear lot, or you can use a covered lot that’s public to the city. We’d booked a first-floor room, as advertised, so we could store our bikes overnight, but we were told we couldn’t do that.

The bath house and sauna are awesome, and there’s a really relaxing lounge for guests with a massage chair and a nice study area. The design is beautifully minimal, and everything was clean with all amenities included. It’s very handy for one of the rental cycle stops, so it’s a perfect stopover for people riding the Shimanami Kaido. The free local drinks waiting in the room minibar on arrival were a lovely touch.

We had a fantastic stay and found it a great place to slow down and relax. The onsen was gorgeous, so lovely we didn’t want to get out. There’s also a reading room with some really interesting books.

After a bath, taking a stroll along the shopping street is a lovely way to spend the time. The bathhouse itself is clean, modern, and quietly stylish, with a warm bath, a 33°C pool, cold water, and a sauna. The shampoo has a fresh citrus scent, and English support is available.

Our hotel, Soil, suggested this place, and it was our first time trying an onsen. We read up on the etiquette beforehand, and had a great time. I'd happily do it again.
