APA hotels have big beds and TVs, with rooms that are smaller than average. That works for me. The AC placement is the part I dislike: it blows right at your head while you sleep. If you like that, great, but for me it’s a deal breaker.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the rooms matched the description and photos. Everything was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the traditional breakfast, and the location worked well for getting to Osaka Castle and public transport.

For a budget hotel, it has all the amenities you could want, but don’t expect the attached restaurant’s breakfast to be a hotel buffet. The in-room TV showed bacon, eggs, and other traditional breakfast items, but the buffet I had was salad, beef balls, sausage links, Chinese soup, and curry. At 1500yen per person, I didn’t think it was worth the price. The breakfast menu item isn’t something you select. It arrives by conveyor belt, and you can accept or send it back. Ours was fried fish, which was tasty but still left something to be desired. I’d find breakfast somewhere else.

Good value. The room was clean but a little dated, with the AC directly above and in front of the bed. The room itself was tiny, and the bathroom so cramped I had to back out of it. Still, it was functional, and the water and accessories were great. I liked the simple Japanese breakfast.
