Hotel Toyo

What stood out most was how ready the Hotel Toyo staff were to help, whether with something at the hostel or elsewhere in the city. They also organize activities for guests, and I had a great time with them. The building was clean and orderly everywhere I looked, which says a lot for such a large place. There’s a tatami lounge by the entrance, table tennis upstairs, laundry service, and two shower rooms, one reserved for women. I had a private room, and the value was great. The facilities were good, and the hostel is close to a subway station and a regular train line. The neighborhood looked a bit rougher, but the stay was fantastic.

After a full day exploring Osaka, I looked forward to coming back to Hotel Toyo, unwinding, and swapping stories with other guests. The place is affordable and good value for Osaka, with a friendly, social feel and activities that make it easy to meet people. It was clean and well maintained, and the staff were kind, welcoming, and spoke good English. A warm, budget-friendly place to stay.

The location made it easy to reach the station and Osaka’s main sights, and the shared bathrooms were consistently clean. My room was spacious and comfortable, too. The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Great value for the money, and I’d happily stay again.

I stayed here a few years ago and just came back. The design across the floors is great, and it’s nice that the place hasn’t really changed. It’s a no-frills hotel at an unbeatable price. My room could’ve been a bit cleaner, but that wasn’t a big deal. The showers and toilets were great and clean by Japanese standards. I’ll come back when I’m in Osaka.
