Daiwa Roynet Hotel Yotsubashi

Check-in was easy, with staff help and self-service machines for getting room keys. The rooms were surprisingly spacious for a business hotel, with a large desk and TV. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from Yotsuyabashi Station, and the lobby amenities station and trouser presser were useful. It also stored our luggage for free after checkout and lent us an umbrella, which was thoughtful. The bed was too firm for my taste, and the blackout curtains still let some light in. The stylish bathroom had an oddly shaped tub that splashed water onto the floor, which wasn’t practical. It’s a modern, well maintained place with a polished feel and decent space for business travelers. I might stay again.

The staff were gentle and well mannered, and breakfast was good enough for a reasonable price. The hotel is within walking distance of the stations, though they’re quite far. Shinsaibasi, with its high quality shops, is walkable too, but Dotonbori is a bit farther away. For the cost, I’d recommend it. It may not be a good choice for a family trip, especially with elderly people or children, if you plan to rely on public transport or do a lot of walking.

The hotel is a solid option if you don’t react badly to allergens. It sits between two subway stops, both served by multiple lines, though walking between lines within a station can take a while. If you start coughing as soon as you enter the room, the feather duvet may be triggering it. Switching rooms didn’t help in my case, and they didn’t have any other kind of blanket. The staff tried to help as best they could, but there wasn’t really anything they could do.

The room was clean, and the facilities included a washing machine and fryer, drink vending machine, and ice maker. Otherwise it’s a great hotel. I can only give it three stars because, despite booking my room months ahead, I was given a smoking room.
