A very basic, budget hotel that seems best suited to backpackers. Check-in is self-service, and there’s no concierge or lobby attendant, just cleaners on their scheduled rounds. They’ve kept things to the bare minimum to keep room rates low, so don’t expect much. It’s along Dotonbori Canal, near convenience stores, but quite a walk from the train station.

Our family found the room clean and nice, and it was pretty quiet. The location was great. Highly recommended.

The location is very convenient, but when I needed staff, I couldn’t find anyone.

The tatami floor was dirty, which was especially unpleasant since our room had a futon on the ground. The curtains smelled awful, as if someone had spilled something on them, the toilet kept smelling strongly of urine, and there was pinkish gunk built up around the tub drains. The place was so dirty that I felt extremely uncomfortable and bought cleaning products at a convenience store just so I could sleep. I also saw clean linens and towels placed directly on the dirty stairwell. I raised it with management, who said they were “dirty sheets from the previous stay” and not my concern. But that leaves me thinking they might have handled my sheets that way too. I saw this on each floor as I walked down from the top floor every day during my stay. I took two pictures: one showed a pile of sheets that clearly looked like the dirty ones being removed, and the other showed a neat stack of folded linens that management said were actually dirty, calling it a misunderstanding. I’ve stayed at many hotels and hostels in Japan, and none have been this filthy. If cleanliness matters to you, I strongly recommend choosing somewhere else.

We couldn't rest or relax during the day because noise came through the walls from both the construction site next door and other guests. We complained to the property, but they did nothing to help. The rooms aren't soundproof.
