We returned the key card as agreed, but still had to pay 5,000 yen for bringing it back late. The stay itself was fine, but the way this was handled was completely unacceptable. There was no written notice of a late-return charge. The only posted fee was 10,000 yen for a lost card, already close to the cost of a night's room, which made the policy seem absurd. When we politely asked where the late fee was documented, staff couldn't show us anything. They threatened to call the police instead, which was shocking, especially from a hotel that couldn't explain its own charge. No clear policy, no transparency, and intimidation. That felt unprofessional and far from what I'd expect by Japanese standards. Future guests should know about this.

The place is well located for lots of different things. We were there for 8 nights, though I'd say it's better for a shorter stay. There's not much in the room besides beds and a small table. It's unmanned, so you handle things yourself.

Check-in was easy, and both the room and its access system were nice. The location is good too. There are fragile items in the room, though, so it might not be the best choice with kids.

We loved having this as our base for exploring Osaka. It's a whole flat, about a 10-minute walk from the metro, and the Japanese style was lovely. The place was spotless and well equipped, and the aircon worked really well. We used the dining area, but found it hard to deal with the takeaway rubbish, since the owners hadn't emptied the bin. Eating takeaway in Japan means a lot of plastic waste.

The facilities didn't match what was promoted. There's no door to lock the room, since the elevator is the main entrance!? A booking made 3 months ahead cost 2.5 times the walk-in price for the same room on the same dates. Don't book!
