The owner was friendly and quick to respond, and the guest house was spotless, tidy, quiet, and nice. It’s also close to Noda Station, with Supa (life), Seria & Seizeriya just a few steps away. This is the best guest house I’ve stayed at in Osaka, and I’ll come back to Megu-Chan Guest house if I’m in town again. Arigatou Megu-Cha

The place was impressively clean throughout my six days and five nights, the longest I’ve stayed in a guesthouse in Japan. Even the corner by the sink was spotless. A few days ago, some cosmetics fell into a narrow gap, and there wasn’t any dust on them when I retrieved them. The room is spacious, well equipped, and very affordable. The pillows and comforters were lovely to sleep on, and there’s a tucked-away clothes-drying spot by the bed. A few practical things: the stairs up to the second floor are narrow, so getting luggage upstairs takes care. I’d have found a luggage scale useful. The washing machine is available, but bring your own detergent; there are dry cleaners on the way to Noda if that’s easier. For a stay of several days, you’ll need to sort your own rubbish. Also, close the refrigerator door firmly. It doesn’t shut itself with a magnet, and it was left ajar once, which caused some ice to form. The bathroom has separate wet and dry areas, towels are above the washing machine, and there’s a toothbrush, with toothpaste on the bristles. Hot water takes a while to heat. The room and bathroom both have strong exhaust fans, though they’re a little noisy. It’s reasonably quiet, but sounds do carry. From upstairs you can hear people talking and walking past, and the neighboring doors opening are especially clear at night and in the morning. I heard what sounded like footsteps above, but with the TV on while I slept, it didn’t bother me much. I noticed the noise more in the morning. There’s a 7-Eleven right outside, plus pizza places, supermarkets, and izakayas along the way. Around Noda Station you’ll find even more, including curry shops, MOS Burger, and McDonald’s.

Getting to USJ is very convenient, and there are lots of restaurants and convenience stores close by. The room’s sound insulation could be better, since footsteps from next door are audible. If you have luggage, the narrow stairs also mean carrying it slowly up to the second floor.

Just as expected: a clean, quiet room with air conditioning and a washing machine. It’s near two metro lines.
