The Westin Osaka

The club lounge was our one disappointment. It’s tiny and crowded all the time, and the food was poor. Food in Japan is generally outstanding, so this really surprised us. During our two-week trip, it was easily the worst we had. We gave it another try the next day, hoping it might improve, but it was exactly the same. The rest was great, especially the staff. The concierge team, and Marika in particular, went above and beyond with restaurant bookings and recommendations. The shuttle drivers were all friendly and helpful. One woman driving the shuttle stood out for being especially kind and helping every guest with their luggage.

This was my third stay at The Westin, but my first time there with my husband, which made it extra special. I was pleasantly surprised to get a room on the 14th floor, and the view was amazing. As usual, the room was neat, clean, and comfortable. The front desk staff were so kind and welcoming. Special thanks to the front desk lady who checked me in and arranged the 14th-floor room. Her warm hospitality made the stay memorable. I always enjoy staying at The Westin and will definitely come back.

Umeda is beautiful and the location is very good. The rooms are large too, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable because they were so hard. They wanted to charge us to use the gym, getting coffee in the morning was difficult, and twice we reminded them there were three of us, yet they kept stocking the room for two. I’d look for another hotel in this area next time.

I felt unfairly singled out and uncomfortable during a short wait for my friend at the entrance. The security guard came over repeatedly and spoke to me rudely and aggressively, even though I wasn’t causing any trouble. It felt as if I didn’t belong there. I can’t help wondering if guests are treated differently because of their background. I hope the hotel takes this seriously and makes sure everyone is treated respectfully.
