Hostel Matsunoki

The accommodation is close to Shinsekai, where there are lots of comfort food options, and I thought the location was excellent. To get there, you walk through Dobutsuen-mae Ichibangai (Tobita Hondori Shopping Street), with its various izakaya. Mornings are quiet, while evenings get lively with groups of young people and older locals. We usually walked to Dobutsuen-mae Station on Osaka Metro or Shin-Imamiya Station on JR. Imafune Station on the private Hankai Line is the nearest, though. The room was spacious and had a well-equipped kitchen with utensils, a fridge, and microwave. The bathroom and separate toilet were standard size, and the bathroom had a bathtub. There was also a dressing area with a handwashing sink, a bright mirror, a hairdryer, and a washing machine. It works for two people, but space is tight and there's only just enough room to open luggage. A balcony was useful for drying laundry. This was one of the best stays of my two-week trip.

The balcony view was a nice bonus. They let me check in early, and I loved the roomy room and comfortable beds.

There’s a small kitchen, a clothes washer, and even a Pizza Hut on the ground floor. The room was clean, nice, and spacious compared with other places we stayed. It's a self check-in hotel, so be sure to check your email inbox. The instructions for getting your key arrive by email on the day you check in.
