Hotel Balian Resort Namba Dotonbori

We enjoyed our two nights at Dotonbori Hotel, and the staff were professional and spoke English, which we appreciated. The rooms were clean, though small as expected. Our two large suitcases were hard to open, so for a longer stay we’d probably need a bigger room. The lobby had things like kettles that weren’t in the room. The main draw is the location, close to everything around Dotonbori and a short walk from Namba station, with easy connections across Osaka.

The bathroom is tiny, almost like one on a flight, so be prepared for that. The room itself is small, as expected in Japan, but had a fridge, several luggage storage options, a chair, desk, and dehumidifier. The bed was comfortable. You’re right in the middle of Osakas entertainment district, Dotonbori, which makes exploring fun and easy. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and there are free massage armchairs in the lobby. Free drinks, ice cream, cup noodles, and other amenities add a lot for the money. They also have evening activities like trying on kimono, though we didn’t take part.

The room and washroom were a little small, but cleanliness and a great location mattered more to me. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and there were loads of amenities. I joined the Monday cultural event, where they helped us try on kimonos and even did our hair. Such a lovely experience. Free drinks, ice cream, and evening instant noodles made it even better. The four head statues were memorable landmarks and made it easy to ask for directions.

The activities for both kids and adults, held twice a day, gave our stay a fun, lively feel. We also had free hot and cold drinks through the day, with cup noodles available at certain times. Ms. Sakamoto was especially kind, patient, and helpful, and her attention made the stay feel personal and warm. The hotel is about a three-minute walk from Dotonbori, making food, shopping, and exploring easy. Great facilities and a top location. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka.
