HOTEL TRAD Osaka Tsuruhashi

I love this hotel and the staff’s service. Everything was fine, and I’ll book here again when I come back to Osaka.

Dear management, our family had a disappointing stay, mainly because of the counter staff’s lack of consideration. We came down about 15-20 minutes late, between 10 and 10:30 am, because getting the kids ready and handling the usual family travel details took time. The 3000 yen charge felt ridiculous. We could pay it, but the unfriendly response means we won’t stay again. We’d understand a charge if we were still there at 1 pm and the hotel needed time to prepare for the next guests. We also had a night flight and hoped to leave our many bags at the counter for longer, but luggage storage was only allowed until 3 pm. The location is some distance from the train station, which is manageable, though tiring after late nights and trips. We ended up taking Uber or taxis many times. The rooms were average and acceptable for the price. I’ve traveled all over Japan for the last five years, and this was a letdown for our family.

I had a very comfortable solo stay in a standard double room. It was perfectly clean and had lots of amenities and good quality bedding. With two people and XL luggage, though, the room might feel cramped. There’s a free shuttle to Hakata Station every 30 minutes until 11:30 in the morning.

There’s no shopping mall nearby, but it’s a quiet place and works well if you have a car. The hotel has no parking, though several lots are close by. We used one that cost 700 yen for the night. The room really is as large as described, much bigger than other Osaka hotels I’ve stayed in. Even with two suitcases open, there was plenty of room to move around. The toilet, washbasin, and bathtub are separate, which I loved. The open kitchen has a kettle for boiling water but no cooking utensils. The double bed is the same size as a bed in the twin room, so next time I’d choose two beds for more flexibility, especially since the room is so big.
