Four Points Flex by Sheraton Osaka Umeda

We booked 3 rooms, 2 doubles and 1 single. The hotel opened in 2025, so the furniture is new, and the rooms are slightly larger than a standard business hotel. There’s a full bathroom with a tub, plus a large window that insulates well against sound and weather. Even with the train station nearby, we couldn’t hear it. There’s a water station on every floor, and a dedicated smoking area for electric cigs only. Yayoi, the Japanese restaurant chain, is connected to the hotel, and there’s shopping and food nearby. The bathroom sink is small because of the tub and the bathroom’s shape. There’s no common area with chairs and tables for eating.

By my standards, the room was very small. Maybe having the bed right against a wall is fine by Japanese standards, but I don’t like it. I prefer to have floor space on both sides of the bed.

It took about 20 minutes to check in because staff couldn’t locate my reservation under my name. They questioned whether I’d booked another hotel or had the wrong date, even after I showed my booking details several times. I didn’t find their attitude professional, and it didn’t feel up to Marriott’s standards.

The concierge was polite and helpful, and having a water dispenser by the room’s lift lobby was a nice touch. Getting around was easy, with two train stations, restaurants like ichiran, wendys, takoyaki balls and taco bell, and shopping including tower records and football all within walking distance. Room cleaning could be more reliable: my towels weren’t replaced one morning. There are only two washing machines, so the wait was around two hours. Still, I had a good stay.
