JA Hotel Bentencho

The room was spacious and the location was great, near the metro and a small shopping center. There were clean towels available in the hallway, and a mosquito net on the window meant we could get fresh air without bugs. Online check-in worked well. They emailed us a number code that we used to get the room key from a locked mailbox. Reception was staffed when we arrived, but we didn’t see anyone during our three-night stay. For luggage storage, we were told to leave our suitcases in the hallway with a note on them. That didn’t feel safe, so as soon as the room was ready, we went back to put our coffees inside.

The hotel was decent, though I’d been expecting worse. It’s in a dormitory area, so the location isn’t especially exciting, but we found a 7/11 and a shopping centre where we could get breakfast at a delicious French bakery. They clean the place and replace the towels every three days, so keep that in mind.

Easy e-check-in, and the front desk staff were very friendly. The room was clean, though small, and made a good place to rest at the end of the day.

The room was clean and decent for two people to sleep in, and Bentencho station is very close. When we arrived at 11 pm there was nobody at reception, so we followed the online check-in instructions. We did notice a few strands of hair on the pillow and blanket, apparently left by previous guests. We stayed eight nights and the room was cleaned just once. I left the “please make up room” card outside the door, but nothing changed. I’m not sure if that’s their policy, but I hadn’t expected it.
