Nine Hours Namba Station

The futuristic look was a fun surprise, and the hostel met all my expectations. It was very clean throughout, including the sanitary facilities, and the location made it easy to get to lots of other sights. Bring earplugs in case people snore. They also provide pajamas, which is a nice bonus.

Everything was in order and clean, and check-in and checkout were easy. The Namba Station location is convenient for catching the Airport Express train. The capsule is fairly large, so taller people should be able to sleep comfortably. The QR code system made things simple. I'd recommend it for a layover or a short stay.

The facilities themselves are nice, but the atmosphere at 9h Namba felt more like a youth hostel. I've stayed in Japanese capsule hotels where the sleeping room stays quiet throughout the day. Here, foreign backpackers in their twenties rummaged through bags in the sleeping area all night, even though bags shouldn't be there. Phones weren't silenced, and people were texting at midnight. If you're an adult who expects quiet, I'd look for a more local capsule. The others I've stayed in were strictly quiet, enforced slipper use, and mostly had Japanese guests. I won't come back, and I don't even want to finish this stay.

The team was wonderful, very polite, and went out of their way to help us change our booking. The system was efficient, everything was spotless, and the showers were AMAZING. I've stayed at other nine hours, but Namba Station is my favorite by far. Paying the extra 110yen or so for the facial cleaning kit was well worth it for me, I felt clean and refreshed.
