The hotel is beautiful and clean, the room was nice, and the location is convenient. Still, the way a billing discrepancy was handled left me extremely disappointed. I booked an IDOBATA Suite through Priceline for three nights and prepaid approximately ¥81,025. I arrived with my family, two adults and three children, and was told the reservation had come through as only two adults. At check-in, I was charged another ¥85,500. I couldn't get a clear explanation for that amount. I showed staff screenshots from the hotel's own website listing the same room for approximately ¥105,000 total for similar occupancy. I also pointed out that the website appeared to list an extra guest charge of ¥7,000 per person per night, which came to significantly less than what I was charged. I asked several times how the ¥85,500 surcharge had been calculated, but was only told, “that is the way it is,” without a breakdown or clarification. Priceline's records showed one occupancy, while the hotel said it had received different information. I was caught between the two companies and expected to pay the extra cost without a clear explanation from either. Communication between OMO7 Osaka and third-party booking companies like Priceline needs significant improvement, so other families don't end up in the same situation. When a guest asks a reasonable question about a charge and provides evidence of different pricing, they deserve an explanation. I'd urge future guests to confirm in writing how many people are on the booking and get a detailed breakdown of extra charges before agreeing to them. I hope management reviews what happened and improves transparency around occupancy pricing, coordination with booking partners, and guest service when billing concerns come up.

The outdoor space and garden are big, and they seem perfect for kids. There was also bingo in the evening with some snacks and drinks. Our room was a good size and worked well for sharing as a family. Breakfast costs more, and unfortunately the staff told me they didn't have gluten-free options.

The rooms were comfortable, the property was well kept, and I liked the atmosphere at OMO7 Osaka. It's a great hotel, but service was the weakest part of my stay. Some staff were polite, while others seemed disengaged. At the front desk and in the dining areas, service didn't have the proactive, attentive hospitality I usually expect from Hoshino Resorts. More consistency and warmth from the team would take this from fine to excellent.

OMO7 Osaka is a beautiful building with top-tier facilities, but the night staff's dismissive attitude and lack of transparency made our stay stressful. We were there in April 2026. At check-in, we were put on the 5th floor without being told it was pet-friendly. My travel companion has a severe pet allergy and soon had breathing problems and itchy eyes. We later shared an elevator with a pet and realized the whole floor was designated for animals. The 5th-floor lobby had a very noticeable pet odor, which wasn't there on the 6th floor where we eventually moved. Around midnight, we asked reception to change rooms for health reasons. The staff member showed no empathy or apology and insisted we pay a 3,000 JPY cleaning fee, despite the allergy risk and the fact that we hadn't been told about the floor. When we asked for a manager, he explicitly said no manager was on duty and that he was the only staff member available. As we were getting ready to move, another staff member appeared and identified himself as the Manager. He was professional, understood the situation right away, and waived the fee. We appreciated his help, but it's deeply troubling that the first staff member lied about his presence to avoid escalating our complaint. Guests with allergies should double-check their floor assignment at check-in instead of assuming they'll be told. Management should get verbal confirmation before putting guests who aren't traveling with pets on pet floors. The staff training and honesty need urgent attention to match the quality of the hotel's facilities.

I booked on a whim and don't regret it. The room stayed quiet even with the train station across the road, and there were lots of eateries within walking distance. The hotel is just two stations from the busy crowds, but it doesn't feel remote or isolated. P.S. The “all you can eat” takoyaki wasn't quite as claimed.
