Osaka Tokyu Rei Hotel

The rooms are small, and there's no microwave or iron in the room. The service is great, though. You can choose between a full room cleaning or just getting fresh towels and having the garbage cans emptied.

The front desk people were friendly and at least tried to help us. But the hotel itself is old, dirty, and neglected. The rooms are tiny, and in my case, I'd recommend it for two people rather than three. The air conditioning didn't work properly. We tried to set it below 20 degrees Celsius, but it wouldn't go lower, and that wasn't cool enough at night. They said the temperature was controlled for the whole apartment and couldn't be changed, and suggested I leave the bedroom door open. We're allergic to dust, and there was dust all over the room. I pointed out spots that looked as if they hadn't been mopped in months. I told them the next day, they had the room cleaned again, but I still had to send photos of places they missed. I ended up staying just one night instead of the three we'd booked. They also don't speak English, which made communication difficult.

Getting to dinner was easy, with lots of food places along the roughly 10-minute walk from Umeda Station. The location was pretty good. The room, on the other hand, was really cramped. We couldn't fully open our medium-sized luggage, and the bathroom was very tight. If you're on the bigger side, 80kg+, the toilet may be a squeeze. It was a decent stay, but for the price we'd expected more room and comfort.
