The owner was fantastic and replied quickly. My room had enough space, plus a balcony, washing machine, small kitchen and microwave, and everything worked properly. It was clean enough, too. The hotel is really close to dobutsuen-mae metro Station, which made getting to various places easy. Osaka feels more relaxed about people and rules than Tokyo and Kyoto, so that might come as a surprise, but it felt safe.

Finding the way there yourself is part of the experience, and self check-in was easy: just enter the passcode to get the key. The guidebook has all the information you need. The room was roomy and cosy, with an air conditioner that has a heat setting, which I really needed on cold, rainy days in March. The toilet was clean and had a warm seat. There's a washing machine and lots of cooking utensils.

Just a few minutes on foot from the train station. The room is spacious and has all the basics for a comfortable stay, including air conditioning with a heat setting, a great shower, and a warm toilet seat.

The apartment itself was modern, comfortable, clean and good value, and the location has a very local feel. But the surrounding area is neglected and run down, with an unpleasant smell in the lift for some reason. It felt a bit dodgy at night, though totally safe. There are lots of flop houses and karaoke bars nearby, and the local convenience stores and supermarkets seemed poorly stocked.

A helpful guidebook, clean apartment and plenty of space. The location was great, really close to the shinsekai area and the trainstation.
