The area was quiet and low-key, but Namba was only one stop away. There was a FamilyMart right outside, and the train entrance was practically at the door, so getting around was easy. The staff were kind and helpful in English whenever we needed them. We had a comfortable double bed in a clean, modern room with a decent amount of space. The bathroom was the largest we had on the whole trip, which we really appreciated. Honestly, this was the best hotel we stayed at. I’m glad I found it for our two nights in Osaka, and I’d happily come back.

We arrived before check-in, and the staff offered to hold our bags. They checked first, though, and the room was ready, so we got in early. The place was clean and nice, with friendly, helpful staff. Our room was functional and clean, and bigger than most of the rooms we had in Japan. It was good value and I’d stay again. Sleep was the downside. Traffic from the nearby road carried on all night, especially when an ambulance went by, and the room stayed quite bright even with the curtains closed.
The room was modern, neat, pretty, and smelled nice. There’s a microwave for heating food, and a Family Mart beside the hotel, which makes the location really convenient. The train station is just a few steps away, too.
This setup makes a lot of sense for budget travelers. The rooms are about the size of a cruise cabin, which is enough for one person or a couple. You get a comfortable bed, a proper stand-up shower, and a fancy Japanese toilet. It’s a bare-bones stay, with no breakfast or daily room service, but the hotel is central, the rooms and facilities are modern, and the metro is just 20 steps from the door. The nightly price is super low for what you get. I do have one complaint: the whole building can only be set to heating or cooling, even though each room has its own mini split. I usually sleep with the AC on back home even in winter, so that’s my issue. The staff were very accommodating and quickly brought me a fan for my room. Service like that is more than I’d expect even from bigger hotel chains where I have years of status. The team at R Hotel Namba really went above and beyond. I’d consider it if you’re traveling on a budget and want a great location.
The bed was comfortable, and the staff were kind and helpful. The location worked well too. But the double room had no actual window, and I felt really closed in. The booking photos made it look like there was a curtained window, so I didn’t realize. If I’d known, I would’ve chosen a twin room for its window and daylight. I wouldn’t stay here again.
