The room was spacious, and there’s a nice roof deck for watching the sunset. A washer and dryer are on the 13th floor, with a vending machine on the first. The mini fridge has no small freezer compartment, which the Kyoto location does have. It’d be easier to use an ice machine if it were away from the front desk, and the bathroom could use a separate small trash can. I’d also prefer the bathroom light switch to be inside the bathroom.

It’s a clean, cozy hotel with friendly staff. The two of us were inconvenienced by having just one room key card, especially when we didn’t go out or return together. In the evening, whoever didn’t have the card risked getting locked out of the hotel. Check-out is at 10 a.m., an hour earlier than at other hotels in Japan, and a late checkout can cost a full day’s room rate.

For a reasonable price, this is a good place to stay. The room was comfortable, had the basic amenities, and didn’t feel too small. Namba Station, Kuromon market, and the Glico sign are all within walking distance.

We had a comfortable stay and a good experience overall. The room was quiet, the view from the 14th floor was great, and express checkout was available. Checkout at 10 a.m. is normal in Japan, though it didn’t suit us.

I was among the first guests after the hotel combined with the b namba kuromon. The rooms have everything you need, and the staff were polite and helpful. A great experience overall.
