Toyoko Inn Osaka Shinsaibashi Nishi

The room was comfortable and the breakfast decent, especially for such an affordable place. The exterior looks a little rustic, but inside it's actually pretty nice. One of the better budget choices in Osaka.

The rooms are small, but have what you need: a decent bed, TV, shower, shampoo, air conditioning, lighting, and hangers. Toyoko Inn is more about convenience and facilities than space or luxury. Lawson and 7 eleven are only a few steps away for snacks or other food. Breakfast is a buffet with lots to choose from, including potato salad, noodles, multi grain rice, veggie salad, apple vinegar drink, stewed potatoes and carrots, and meat patties. It was tasty, not too heavy, and felt healthy. The dining area gets busy, so if it's crowded you may want to bring your food back to the room. The front desk staff were polite and helpful, usually greeting you with a smile. My one wish is that Toyoko Inn had an email address for when you need help with a booking or something similar. My trip in Japan has been great with Toyoko Inn, and I'll keep choosing it when I visit.

The rooms could use an update, but the staff were nice and breakfast changed each day. Great location too, about a five-minute walk to the subway and ten minutes to the mall.

Good value, right by the Yotsubashi line and close to lots of great places to eat. You can also get underground access and reach four or five other metro lines easily. A day pass makes getting around much easier with Google Maps, except when you lose service…^_^
