Toyoko Inn Osaka Tsutenkaku Mae

I stayed three days and had a great experience. The room was clean every time, breakfast was good and free, and it was inexpensive. I’d stayed at a different Tokyo Inn in Tokyo before, and I trusted no other hotel rather than TOKYO INN. I’m picky about hotels, and this one has all the amenities I want.

Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the coin laundry machines were excellent. It’s a clean hotel in a convenient spot, about a five-minute walk from two different metro stations. Plenty of toiletries are free.

The hotel itself was fine, with clean rooms at a reasonable price. What bothered me was the small area’s only elevator, which can be inconvenient, and how the nearby tourist-trap area gets crowded. I often used side streets to avoid the crowds. If you’re after gimmicky games and all-you-can-drink restaurants, there are plenty of places with identical menus around here. If you want to be near Tsutenkaku, I’d suggest Tokyo Inn Osaka Abeno Tennoji instead. It’s a short walk away, has three elevators, and sits closer to a train station and shopping, with more varied food options. I often passed by and wished I’d booked the Abeno Tennoji location.

The location is the highlight: there’s plenty of good food nearby, several subway and train stations, and lots to do around Shinsekai. I stayed on a higher floor and didn’t hear the tourists. It’s a clean, good-value Japanese business hotel with branches across Japan, and breakfast is included.
