Three of us got stranded when our hotel hadn't left us a key and had closed by the time we arrived. The hostel owner tried to call them for us, even though that meant we might not stay at his place. When no one answered, he showed us our beds and the shower, then kindly left us to it. The facility was clean, and the front desk was super friendly. It was an extremely positive experience, and it convinced me that Japanese hostels are the bomb!

We loved this hostel and would recommend it, especially for the price. It's about five minutes on foot to Kuromon market and roughly ten to Dotonbori, with plenty of shops nearby, including an FX exchange machine. The hostel was safe, clean, and well kept. We stayed on the third floor, where there are over 15 dorms, but not all the beds were occupied, so it was nice and quiet. They also rent bikes for 500 jpy and provide free water, tea, and coffee. We stayed for three nights.

For the price, this place is nice. It took about 15 minutes to reach the places we wanted to visit, and the shower booths and bathrooms were clean. Shampoo and body wash were provided. I'd recommend it if you're not big and bulky.

I stayed six nights, and the Wi-Fi barely worked at all. It felt like the hostel couldn't care less about getting decent internet. There was black mould and red algae inside the showers. How hard is it to scrub that off with some bleach? A male staff member walked right into the women's toilets, so why have separate toilets? The towel rental cost ¥200, which is a lot for a small, basic, thin towel. And there's a huge gap between the bunks, so you can see the person next to you. So bad!

We got lucky and scored one of the hostel's three suite rooms. It was really comfortable, more like a hotel room. Den-Den town is right in the heart of where it's located, and it's a 9-10 minute walk to Namba / Ebisujo stations. Dotonburi is about 14 minutes away on foot.
