A good place to stay while traveling around Hokkaido. I recommend it.

The price was very reasonable, and the photos made the room look stylish, but I learned not to judge a place just by its pictures. Guesthouses can be very different, and there are things to consider that photos don't show. I hope this helps someone. I hesitated to leave a review, but wanted to spare others the same experience and hope the house can improve. When I arrived, I was surprised there was no reception desk and the caretaker wasn't there. I got into my room by calling the number on the notice, but I had to contact them myself to find out about the key and parking. The first-floor room had signs everywhere that made it seem like it had been converted from a snack bar. Maybe the dampness is unavoidable by the sea, but the room, towels, and futons all felt damp, and I wasn't comfortable using them. There were no windows to air it out, no air conditioning, just one fan, and the smell bothered me too. I bought Febreze spray and a bath towel, laid the towel over the futon and pillow, and slept there, figuring the room was only for sleeping. My family usually stays in budget hotels and can put up with minor inconveniences, but after the amazing night view in Hakodate and delicious food in Otaru, their excitement suddenly dropped.

The facilities aren't anything special, but it's good value if you can get a booking for under 100,000 won. There's no air conditioning in summer, though the evenings are cool enough that a fan does the job.

The bedding seemed dirty, and they didn't have proper infection control measures. My husband wanted to leave without staying, but we stayed and headed out early in the morning. Terrible hotel. I won't be back.
