Breakfast and dinner came with superb service, and the dining room comfortably fit 12 people. There’s a complimentary morning shuttle to the nearest train station, handy for touring during the day. The private Onsen and the Public bath were both clean and enjoyable, and the setting is beautiful, with garden walks and a relaxing fire pit. We had a wonderful experience.

I was already thinking I’d like to bring my parents here next time by the time we left. The staff were all so friendly and seemed to notice what guests needed before being asked. The public bath and outdoor hot spring were excellent; the in-room private bath was smaller, but still very nice. At checkout, the staff waved us off with big smiles and an enormous wave. It was such a warm goodbye. I hadn’t expected much, since popular places can disappoint, but this stay was wonderful.

We’ve visited in winter and during cherry blossom season, and every stay has been relaxing and amazing. The service really shows how good Japanese hospitality can be. Dinner and breakfast were served in a real gastronomic style. One of the best Onsen hotels in Hokkaido, and worth every penny.

The grounds are beautiful, and having a room with a private outdoor bath was such a treat. There were thoughtful extras too: a late-opening spa, free wine and beer in the evenings, and matcha lattes in the morning. You could even roast mini sausages and marshmallows at the fire pit. The service and facilities were impeccable. I’d give it 6 stars if I could!

Snow falling around me while I sat in my own private onsen with a beer. Superb. The food and service were top level, and it was a brilliant ryoken stay. It’s expensive, but worth every cent. Everyone should try a proper Ryoken while in Japan. If you’re down that way, I recommend Hakone Ginyu too.
