The shuttle leaves at 8:30, which is handy, since it’s a bit of a walk to the resort. Lovely hotel and great staff, would recommend 10/10.

The lodge is within walking distance of the resort, and our room was clean and comfortable. We stayed over December and January 2018/2019 and absolutely loved it. We took a bus from our Sapporo hotel to Rusutsu resort, where Romulus' really nice shuttle driver picked us up. The hosts were super helpful. Along the walk to the resort, there’s a restaurant called Pirate Mans with delicious homemade food, definitely worth a visit. And the ponies in the front yard are super cute!

Lodge Romulus is a simple, clean place, and a great choice if that suits you. It’s within walking distance of the mountain, and the people running it are friendly, kind, and easy to communicate with. We took a bus from New Chitose Airport, which is the easiest way to get there. Book at least a week ahead if you want a particular time. In good weather the trip takes 90 minutes, and the bus drops you at the resort by the mountain. The lodge arranges a pickup from there, so it’s all straightforward. Breakfast is good value, and you can arrange it the day before.

The rooms were really nice and clean, and the staff were lovely. It’s close enough to walk to the ski resort, though the owner will try to arrange a ride for you anyway. A nice place to stay.

We’d love to return again and again. Romulus is a lovely family-run hotel with comfortable rooms and really friendly people, and the nearby restaurant Pirateman is lovely too. Highly recommend.
