The room was modern and very clean, and the woman who checked us in was polite. It's also close to the Sado Goldmine and the former Flotation Plant, with a Lawson and a bus stop nearby.

The annex felt like a room in a detached house, in a two-story wooden building. We could hear everything, from doors closing to hallway conversations. At 4:30 AM, the person in the next room left and woke me up. The curtains let in enough light that the room was bright early in the morning, and I couldn't sleep well or get any rest. There were two of us, but the room was so compact we even had to be careful using the toilet. I hated the whole experience. It was the only disappointment of my trip to Sado.
Restaurants are plentiful nearby, so there's a good range to choose from, and you can explore different places. There's a drugstore right across the street and a ramen shop run by Fukusuke next door. The room is small, with a tiny unit bath, though the high ceiling helps it feel less cramped. It's like a bed and bath squeezed into a 4.5 tatami room. The electronic card lock gives good security. If you're after a reasonably priced place just to get a good night's sleep, I think it's fine. The bath is small, but it seems you can use the bath at a nearby hotel too.
The location is handy, right across from a drugstore, and the building and rooms are new and nice. Still, three things really need attention. I spent 30 minutes trying to check in because there was no reception desk, and the note with the phone number to call was hard to find. Another guest who was also searching found a reception desk and gave me directions, so we walked there together. The blankets were the worst part, they had no covers and felt unsanitary. Soundproofing is poor as well, so noise from other rooms carries through.
In the center of Aikawa, it's convenient for reaching restaurants on foot. The rooms are small and simple, but work perfectly well for business trips. Depending on the season and the value for money, I'd like to stay here again.
