It must have been a wonder of a hotel back in the 60s. It’s been kept up, but feels a bit tired now. Our room was spacious enough, though the pillows were hard and thin. The view was great, and there’s a big snack shop in the hotel. It also has an onsen, but we didn’t use it. The location worked well for us. There are lots of restaurants close by, and we always found somewhere to eat within a few minutes’ walk. It’s also near the port, which is handy for getting in and out. We had a car for visiting sites around Sado, and the goldmine was about a 40-minute drive away.

The staff helped me with local questions, procedures, and tourist information. We had a wonderful stay in a lovely, classic Japanese tatami room with an en-suite bathroom and shower. There were indoor and outdoor Onsen, and the view of the bay and island was amazing. I’d definitely recommend it!

The management is a total waste. The hotel itself would be okay in a Showa-style way, but this is the worst hotel in the world.
