Yudokoro Murobe

It’s a lovely, quiet onsen with great meals, and the people are very nice and helpful. The restaurant staff handled the flavors and pace of both dinner and breakfast well. Lots of dinner photos have already been posted, so I’m sharing the breakfast that impressed me.

We stayed in January, in winter, with two adults and two children. The hotel had a cozy feel, and the entrance was clean and well cared for. There was a photo spot as soon as we came in that our little ones enjoyed, along with a souvenir corner. We could rest briefly with a welcome drink before going to the room. At check-in, a friendly female staff member greeted us and gave a thorough, if brief, explanation. Our room had a free-flowing hot spring, and the lovely spring aroma greeted us as soon as we entered. There was a water server for hot or cold water. As expected from Nanki Shirahama Onsen, the bath overflowed with spring water. The source was very hot, so we had to add water ourselves. I think the bath can suit people who prefer it hot or lukewarm. The tub is on the ground and there are stairs, so it may be difficult for older people with mobility issues. The shower temperature was fixed, which couldn’t be adjusted, and our children sometimes got too hot. It would have been better if it could be changed. We ate dinner and breakfast in the same restaurant. The staff at both meals were friendly and chatted with us casually, and even took family photos. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere, especially the fish and meat. The children’s meal came a little too early for our 4- or 5-year-old, but he ate it with gusto. There were shared spaces too, including a kids’ room, massage chairs, kids’ bouldering and table tennis. There are many ryokans and hotels in Nanki Shirahama Onsen, but this one works well for different kinds of visitors, including families and two-generation families. I especially recommend trying the overflowing in-room bath. Thank you!

The staff in the dining area were busy at both meals, but they were all smiling and helpful. The food was delicious, especially the glossy rice served fresh in a wooden rice container. The hot spring water seemed diluted at times because the source is so hot, but after a while only spring water came out again, and it was very good. I stayed in a Japanese-style room with a shower and thought it was very good value. There was a water purifier in the room, so I could always have good water. The ReFa hair dryers in both the public bath and guest rooms were comfortable to use, and I plan to buy the same one. I’d like to stay again.

The spring water was amazing, and I felt sparkling clean after my bath. It’s a small, clean place, quiet because only people staying at the accommodation use it. I bought a ticket from a nearby accommodation and came for a bath. I’d like to stay here next time! 😎
