Comfort Hotel Sakai

The room had a strange low ceiling section over the shower. I only noticed it when I lifted my hand to wash my hair and bumped it. If you're taller than 160 cm, ask for a bathroom with a higher ceiling, or choose another hotel if that's a deal breaker. The amenities were limited to a sleep robe, comb, razor, and toothbrush. At other branches I've stayed at, they also had a bath sponge or loofah. Breakfast was good, with cereal, rice for making your own ochazuke, sliced bread, croissants, jam, scrambled eggs, sausages that weren't the best, salad, fries, yoghurt, coffee, juice, and smoothies in summer. I can't remember whether one of the jams was grape or blueberry. It's a bit away from Osaka's main tourist spots, so the trip in took a while, but it was quiet. This wasn't the best branch of the brand I've stayed at, though it was still good value for my money.

This is an average hotel with good service. The parking isn't right by the hotel. It's across the road, about a five-minute walk away. They'll reimburse you up to the same amount only if you choose a nearby parking spot.

The room was tiny but worked fine, and they provided razors and hairbrushes. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with a generous spread: corn, croissants, fried rice, potato salad, scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, boiled vegetables, milk, and juices. Much better than I expected.

Clean, efficient, and comfortable for a business trip, with good service and a low price. Saikyo station is about a five-minute walk, and there are plenty of izakaya and kushikutsu places nearby. The morning breakfast could be better, though, since there were only a few items.
