Seaside Hotel Kujukuri

While exploring the Boso Peninsula, I stayed at this hotel. There's an additional parking lot nearby besides the one in the photo, so arriving by car was no problem. The highlight is the rooftop wine open-air bath. I really enjoyed the refreshing feeling. Breakfast was good too, especially the mackerel and sardines, and rice refills were free. Thank you for the meal.

The rooftop open-air bath was the standout during my stay at Seaside Hotel Kujukuri. I could look up at the stars while soaking, with the sound of the ocean in the background. It felt like another world and gave me time to relax. The water was a comfortable temperature and eased my tired body. The staff were courteous, and the hotel interior was clean and comfortable. Being surrounded by Kujukuri's nature made it a lovely place to refresh.

We brought our dog to see the first sunrise of the year and stayed from New Year's Eve 2024 to New Year's Day 2025. The hotel is older, but our pet-friendly room had been fully renovated and was modern and very clean. Meals were brought to our room, which was convenient since we didn't have to leave our dog alone. Dinner was plentiful and mostly seafood, while breakfast was a simple Japanese set meal. Both tasted good. However, on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, both meals arrived later than the times confirmed at check-in, perhaps because staffing was difficult. The rooftop wine bath was quite cold to reach in midwinter, especially with the strong wind. Once in the water, though, it was pleasant to soak while seeing stars and airplane lights. The hotel was nice and relatively reasonably priced.

I stayed one night, two days, without meals. The Japanese-Western style room was nothing like the photos. It was moldy, the air conditioner barely worked even set to 16 degrees Celsius, and there were cockroaches. At the wine bath, the shower water was almost cold, and the bath is close to the road with no privacy. People smoked indoors in the shared space outside the room. When guests went out, the key was left exposed at the front desk. I won't stay here again.
