Hotel Relief Sapporo Susukino

They helped me switch to a room without a smoke smell, which I appreciated. The hotel feels calm and relaxing, with cute decorations. At certain times they offer free bread, ice cream, and drinks. I liked being able to sit in the restaurant, take a break, and look outside. I’d recommend it.

The room was oppressively small and smelled terrible. Its window was blocked by the neighboring building and couldn’t be opened, and the soundproofing was awful. I could hear people talking next door. The toilet was unbelievably old, older than the public restroom downstairs. It was also far from the subway station. Staying here felt like being in prison. A terrible experience.

The breakfast was delicious and cost 500 yen. Most of the day, there were also free drinks and snacks in the lobby. The machine ice cream was absolutely phenomenal, exactly what I’d heard Hokkaido ice cream would be like. This was the cheapest hotel by a good margin during my Japan travels in 2025, and I usually hunt for the lowest prices. The value is hard to beat. The rooms were nice and a little bigger than in typical budget hotels. It’s at the bottom tip of Susukino, a short walk from the metro or up the main downtown strip.

There’s a warm spa in the hotel, though we didn’t get a chance to try it. The service was friendly, and the laundry, dryer, and vending machines were easy to find. They’re on the 4th floor, the same one as our room. Honestly, this hotel is amazing!
