Hotel Mystays Sapporo Nakajima Park Annex

The price was reasonable and the location worked well, but I couldn't sleep properly because the room smelled of cigarette smoke and the bedding had a strong detergent scent. My nose is very sensitive, so both smells bothered me.

The shared room had great amenities, and the beds were comfortable for me, though they have the firmness typical of Japanese beds. The bathroom in our room had a slightly unpleasant smell. More concerning, cleaning staff threw away medication belonging to friends in another room, even though it was packed in their bags.

We found plenty of good restaurants within walking distance in Susukino, and Nakajima Koen (Park) is nearby too. For the price, the hotel was good enough. The room felt clean and cozy, though sounds from outside came through the thin walls clearly. The bathroom was small, especially around the toilet, which felt cramped.

We were traveling as three families who spoke different languages, and two families knew little or no English or Japanese. The staff were patient and friendly, even when one of us was stressed, and handled everything well. Our room was very clean and modern, with a nice shower and an in-room safe. I'd recommend staying here.
