The room was tidy, modern, and well kept. It wasn’t very big, which is typical for Japan, but the layout worked well, and the firm bed gave me a good night’s sleep. The surrounding area was quiet, nice after a full day out. It’s within walking distance of Odori Park and Sapporo Station, so getting around was easy. Staff were helpful when I had questions, and check-in and check-out went smoothly. I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Potmum and thought it was good value for Sapporo. I’d recommend it to travellers wanting a clean, comfortable base in a convenient but peaceful area.

The main café and restaurant lobby has a welcoming feel and a great coffee culture. My partner and I really enjoyed the private Sauna/Onsens, a nice addition since my last visit. It’s a quieter part of Sapporo, but just a short walk from the CBD and JR lines. Glad I booked again for us after first staying here in 2020, before COVID took hold.

I came back in winter and found the real Dutch West fireplace made the place especially cozy. It’s a great setup for a couple or for remote work, with a coworking space and café available to use. The room was really clean and practical, but there wasn’t space for my luggage, which made things awkward. The city centre is within walking distance.

Breakfast was delicious, with a tasty main dish and latte, and the staff were really nice. At check-in they gave me very good fresh coffee beans, and there are lots of free amenities at the front desk. The Annex room and service were an amazing deal: a huge bed, in-room fridge and coffee set, and cozy pajamas. The washer and dryer were easy to access. It’s a quick subway ride to odori park, and there’s a good izakaya around the corner. Lovely!

The bed was large and very comfortable, and we could open the window for fresh air. It’s a quiet spot beside the subway station and a decent grocery store, Max Valu, which is open 24/7. Fine for one night, but I wouldn’t stay longer unless I were travelling alone. The rooms are extremely small, and with a large suitcase, good luck.
