My worst Airbnb experience so far. The place smelled bad, the sofa had no padding, and the chairs were broken. There were lots of bugs, including big spiders, and the whole place felt really unwelcoming.

The nearest station involves a long uphill walk, and the place gives the impression of a middle-aged working person running an Airbnb for their grandparents. It was expensive, especially compared with cheaper places I've stayed downtown where the hosts actually cared about us. The Wi-Fi barely worked, so I had to go into the city to get my work done, then come back at night. I mostly used the place to sleep, but even the sheets, glasses, pots, and pans felt icky. I ended up buying plastic cups at a supermarket for drinks. There was no hot water at the sink for brushing teeth, and the shower water came out in a slow trickle. The chairs wobbled so much that you had to be careful not to fall. The floor-level sofa was even worse in its own way, with no cushion, just the frame digging into you, though at least you couldn't fall off it like the chairs. There are cameras, which felt scary. Then I saw the brochure saying “we are always watching you” and that they'd charge for any wrongdoing. That's actually what it said. We had planned to have a BBQ, but the whole setup felt so over the top that we gave up on the idea. If you use enough electricity to trip the breaker, they want 4000JPY just for the host to come reset it. The breaker is locked, so you can't do it yourself. Maybe it's broken, or maybe they just want the money. I felt watched and unwelcome, like they don't trust guests and only want to make money from them. If guests feel squeezed for cash, that isn't how hospitality should work. Good luck.

The house was run-down, the facilities were poor, and the stay was nowhere near comfortable. The manager would fly into a rage over almost anything, yelling at us and trying to intimidate us. They also demanded extra fees that made no sense. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here, it would be better to sleep outside.

The convenience store nearby was handy, and the location itself wasn't bad, but it’s a long way from the station and there are hills. This was my first stay in an Airbnb like this, and honestly I don't even want to give it one star. I needed Wi-Fi for work and chose the place for that reason, but I couldn't connect at all. I had to go outside because I couldn't get anything done. There are cameras inside and outside the entrance, so I never felt safe. It felt like I was being watched all the time. The rooms weren't clean. There were spider webs, dead bugs, ants, and even centipedes. I found some kind of residue on the sheets, and the old diatomaceous earth mat in the bathroom was dirty and wouldn't absorb water. I got a stye after staying here. The pots and kettles were greasy and had some sort of residue, which seems wrong when guests are charged a cleaning fee. The amenities were leftover items from previous guests, like shampoo, body wash, and other odds and ends, though the shampoo and other supplies were kept separately in the bathroom. The sofa felt like sitting on its bare frame, with no cushions inside. I also saw that, although all rooms appeared available on the website, they were locked so guests couldn't use beds in rooms they hadn't booked. If the circuit breaker trips, they charge 4,000 yen, and it's locked. I could have reset it myself easily. The host directed me to book through their own website instead of Airbnb, and replied to negative reviews on Airbnb by calling them fake. If you do book, it may be better to use Airbnb. Guests don't seem welcome here. I don't know what happened in the past, but can't they trust their guests? They run a place for people to stay, after all.

For five of us, men and women together, they gave us one room with just a bed and no privacy. When we asked if we could use another room, the email reply was harsh. They were only nice to us until we paid. We'd checked the internet ahead of time because we needed the room for work, but the connection wasn't good enough. Even mobile phone Wi-Fi didn't work on the second floor. The towels were so worn that we couldn't tell how long they'd been in use. For the price, the accommodation was disappointing 🥲
