Hotel Den Haag Huis Ten Bosch

This is listed as a 4-star hotel, but the room was in terrible shape. The carpet was worn, dirty, and stained, the bed and bedding were substandard, threadbare, and full of holes. There were cracks in the walls and ceiling, plus stains on the walls. The furniture was chipped and battered, and there were no robes. It felt no better than a low-end business hotel, and was the worst room quality I've seen in 30 years of travel.

Lovely place, with really polite, friendly, and helpful staff. Breakfast was nice, and the view was amazing.

The sea view was wonderful, and we really enjoyed our stay in the lovely room. Every staff member smiled and treated us kindly. It was an unforgettable night at a reasonable price. I'd highly recommend it if you're planning to visit Miffy.

The harbor-facing room had a spectacular view on the last night of the New Year fireworks. The fireworks weren't visible from our party's loft room, but the water view there was still surprisingly good. We liked the nightstand radio, too. A shuttle picked us up at the designated parking lot, and the friendly staff greeted us in both English and Japanese. The festive decorations throughout the hotel were charming, and we got complimentary onsen vouchers and a shuttle schedule, though we didn't use either. We had a short wait for breakfast, but the buffet was worth it, with lots of choices. I checked the allergen details on the website beforehand, and there were a few baby food options as well. Dinner at the hotel buffet was fully booked, so we ate instead at the yakitori takeout spot in the harbor area. Red Lobster was another option that didn't require park admission. Our group was impressed by the hospitality, vintage atmosphere, food, and views. I thought Hotel Den Haag might feel dated and underwhelming, but we had a wonderful stay and would love to come back.
