This is an old, family-run Ryokan, and the family were accommodating, but our stay at the end of December was extremely cold. A pipe burst in the middle of the night, leaving us without hot water and flooding the lobby. At checkout, we felt bad seeing the elderly man drying a huge pile of paperwork. The good parts were the lake being nearby, the generous room size, and especially the meals. Dinner alone felt worth the room price. We paid ¥20,000 for one night for two adults, including a huge breakfast and dinner. The place isn't perfect, far from it, but the value is there. If you're picky, look elsewhere.

The lake view was wonderful, and the hosts were very accommodating. The facilities are traditional, which made the place feel like home, and the food was really delicious. I'd definitely stay again next time.

The room was spacious, but the onsen was only okay and not clean enough, a major drawback across the property. The ryori was so-so.

I came here hoping to eat, but the menu was limited, so I got the pork bowl and Inaniwa udon set. The meat in the pork bowl was sliced very thin, there was hardly any rice, and the udon was much too soft. Sorry, but I could make a better meal myself. If they don't care about their customers, I suppose they can leave things as they are, but after driving all this way, I'm finished with this place.
