Shima Kirakuso

The owner was so friendly that I already want to come back. After a swim in the sea, you can shower, and there’s even a basic family-sized bathtub. The toilets were clean and looked after. There’s no running water in the cottages, but you can fill a tank at the cooking area, so it worked out fine. I’ve stayed at a lot of campsites, and this one’s now my favorite.

Our auto-camping plans fell through because of the strong winds, and we weren’t sure what to do until the campground owner suggested this place. It’s run by the same company, so we could add the charge to our campground bill and get a discount. The bungalows were being renovated, so we stayed in a cottage instead. It had air conditioning, a fridge, Wi-Fi, and two beds. The BBQ area outside is enclosed, which made it comfortable despite the wind. There’s a sandy beach right in front for summer swimming. Thanks to the owner and the Kirakuso manager for being so kind!

We keep coming back to this pet-friendly bungalow. With our elderly dog and our other pet getting on in years, tent camping has become tough, so we’ve switched to cottages and bungalows. This place is set up well: a pop-up tarp, big table and chairs outside, plus a silver mat, fridge, and dependable air conditioning inside. They seem to varnish the bungalows every year, and the upkeep is great. It’s always spotless and looks new. There’s hot water in the shared baths and showers, as well as in the kitchen, which is a lot for the price. We even got oysters and five-colored clams around New Year’s, and caught a stunning sunset. MaxValu and FamilyMart are nearby. You only need basic bedding, with sleeping bags available to rent, and a change of clothes, so you can pack very lightly. I almost don’t want to tell anyone about this place. We’ll be back for sure. Thanks!

The bungalow had a fridge and air conditioner, which kept us comfortable in the summer heat. There was also a one-touch tarp outside with tables and chairs, making BBQ easy. The beach is right there, and the site has showers, trash disposal, and a place for ash. We stayed one night over two days, and they kindly accommodated us when we said we’d be late for check-in. One group kept making noise after 10 PM despite the notice asking everyone to keep it down. That was disappointing. The property wasn’t at fault, but a casual patrol and a word with people who seemed to be getting carried away with alcohol might have prevented tension between guests. We could have left feeling more comfortable. Still, I’m very happy with the facilities and service, and I’ll definitely return.
