AJITO Hostel & CafeBar

It felt more like a guesthouse or inn than a hostel, and everything was spotless. Our family of three had plenty of room in the third-floor unit, which felt like a little apartment. The futons were unexpectedly comfortable, and there was an ensuite bathroom with a nice shower, a small floor-level sitting area and table, a TV, and a roomy rooftop terrace with outdoor dining space. The place looked newly fitted out or renovated, and was bright, cheerful, and very clean. There were two parking spaces, and we used one for our rental car. Bikes were available too. We also had a great meal and friendly service at nearby Ajito Izakaya, just a short walk away. The proprietor owns both places. We’d definitely stay again if we were in the area.

The hostel was just like the photos, clean and neatly arranged, and the owner was really friendly. I spent two nights here. It’s not right by the JR station, but there’s a supermarket nearby, and you can walk to plenty of restaurants, the well-known shrines, and Shingu castle. I thought the location worked well.

Right by the harbour, and both clean and comfortable. A fantastic place.

Everything felt new and clean, and checking in and out with a code was easy. They provide free amenities, and restaurants and shops are nearby. Probably the nicest hostel I’ve stayed in.
