Crystal Besso Shirahama

The kids were happy, and having some free time together made the stay a meaningful experience. But a few things didn’t go smoothly. We were five adults and nine children, and the room was smaller than it appeared in the photos, so at first there wasn’t anywhere to put our luggage. A little more storage space would have helped. I’d read other reviews mentioning a sewage smell, and we noticed it too. The Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect properly, so I had to call a staff member. We thought staying overnight would save money, but it probably came out about the same as somewhere else. There was karaoke, though it closed at 9 pm; after we went out for dinner, it was too late to use it, which was disappointing, lol. This seems to be a kind of oven house for people buying second homes, so maybe they haven’t put much effort into accommodation.

I usually book a different vacation home in Shirahama, but tried this one for the first time because the price was reasonable. The amount of amenities really surprised me. There was loads of coffee and a bunch of towels, which was great, and they’d even put water in the fridge. I’ll definitely stay here again. Thanks so much.

The scenery from up on the mountain is gorgeous, with the sea and mountains in view. Getting up and down without a car is tough, though. Down the hill there’s Toretore Market, which is a really great spot. The bath and sauna were clean.

We had a great three days together. The room was spacious, the sauna was great, and we had fun barbecuing.
