Hotel New Otsuka

Really bad.

We had a clean, roomy indoor court, and the food was delicious. From our room, we could see the ocean too.

There’s plenty to enjoy nearby, including a fishing port, Japanese restaurant, and seafood shop. The property has a pool, surfing, and indoor and outdoor tennis courts, and the open-air bath has an amazing view.

The dinner was generous and tasty, and felt like good value for the price. I stayed with colleagues, and although the dining room was lively with lots of young people and small children, it didn’t really bother me. This works well for training camps with friends or coworkers, but I wouldn’t choose it for a couple’s or family trip. The bath itself, which seems to be an iodine bath, is pale yellow, a bit like Isodine. It wasn’t anything special, but it was okay. The bathroom, especially the changing area, is quite old. A practical heads-up: some of the washers and dryers just outside the hotel don’t work properly. Every dryer except the one at the front left my things soaking wet, even after two 60-minute runs. I found it kind of funny and didn’t complain, but use the front one. Hotel staff, please check and fix the others sometime.
