The view from the huge tub is wide open over Kujukuri Beach, and the yellowish-brown water is typical of Shirako Onsen. From the changing room you can step onto a terrace and cool down in the sea breeze. It costs 800 yen for a day visit. The bath is on the 9th floor, with one simple indoor pool, a large capacity, and 20 washing stations. The shampoos are quality products from a major cosmetics maker. The facilities are showing their age, though that wasn't a problem for me. I went on Saturday from 2:30 to 3:30 PM and had the bath almost to myself until I was leaving, when about 20 elementary school kids arrived and made it chaotic. Groups of kids on club activities can turn up, so for a relaxing Saturday visit, I'd finish bathing as early as possible.

The ocean panorama makes this a lovely spot for a day trip to the hot springs. The water is a little hot, which I like, and contains iodine, a feature of Shirako Onsen.

For a day visit, the large public baths are the main attraction, with a great view and an entry price of just 800 yen, which isn't especially high. I called because the website said the baths open at 1 PM, and was told they'd close at 2 PM for cleaning. Still, it's a nice little addition to a short trip.

I spent three days here for a conference and found the reception area and rooms pleasantly calm. The large public bath is unusually on the top floor, and the shower pressure was just right for easing tired muscles. The bath temperature was so comfortable I nearly fell asleep 💦. Depending on your floor, you might catch a beautiful sunrise!! I felt very relaxed.

I stopped by for a day-use soak. You get a panoramic ocean view from the bath, and apparently Mt. Fuji can be seen too. It's a hidden gem that deserves more promotion.
