The room was basic, but it worked really well for us. Staff were helpful and patient, and breakfast was incredible. They clearly put in extra effort to make it delicious.

I loved the self-serve bar lounge, with beer, red and white wine, whisky, spirits, and soft drinks. It would’ve been nice to have peanuts or some snacks there too. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings, and I enjoyed the history of the vault and the wide-open dining room. The bed was a little firm, but I’d stay again. I enjoyed my one-night stay. Check-in took about 10 minutes because another guest arrived at the same time and there was only one staff member.

We missed lunch because the menu ended at 2pm, but the tea set was a nice experience. By then the lunch crowd had left, so it felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The sweets and small portions of cake with the tea were just right with coffee. We wanted to book dinner too, but it was full. I’d suggest booking ahead.
