Shirako New Seaside Hotel

Such a nice place.

We were one adult and two children in a Japanese-style room that had no bathroom or toilet. The front desk staff were very polite and kind. The rooftop private hot spring was free for 45 minutes, though the strong wind left the water a bit cool. Downstairs, the large bath had plenty of space, with a good-sized washing area and tub, and we could relax there. Dinner was just average, while breakfast came with lots of side dishes for the rice. I usually skip breakfast, but cooking our own dried fish and eggs made it easy to eat two bowls. The price was reasonable, so it felt like good value.

It was quiet, and I could relax in the bath 😊 The hot water was thick and salty. There was no sauna, just a storage room 🙄, and no open-air bath either. The changing room had no water, though drinking water was available on this street. Some showers didn't work, and the wooden chairs were low. There were two hair dryers. I used the place for a day trip and had trouble finding the parking lot 🅿️, driving around before spotting it in an open lot. I paid at reception and put my valuables, including precious metals, in a locker. Alternatively, you can go to reception. Watch out for the step when opening the entrance door.

The hotel has an old Showa-era atmosphere, but it was clean, and the staff were kind and tried to make the service good. I had breakfast included, without dinner. The private open-air bath was amazing 😀.
