I paid ¥7,000 for a Friday night in a non-smoking Standard Single, with no meal plan. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, and the staff were polite and helpful. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the North Exit of JR Shizuoka Station, not the advertised five. Toothbrushes and tea aren’t in the room; you can pick them up at the rooftop reception. There was tea and a complimentary bottle of water, but no coffee. The rooftop garden is sophisticated and feels like an urban oasis for guests, with expansive views over Shizuoka. Good value for the price, and I’d recommend it.

The check-in lobby was nice, and the staff were friendly. The room had a window, but it looked onto the corridor and another room’s window, so I had to keep the curtains closed. It resembled the website photo, though the photo looked nicer. The room and furniture were worn down, with nothing especially pleasing to look at. There are two hotels in Shizuoka whose names start with “Garden,” so don’t mix them up as I did. I ended up staying at both, and you can read my review of the other one too.

The meal was delicious and the room was clean. For the price, it really doesn’t get better.

It’s a nice, kid-friendly hotel. At the morning buffet, the chef makes omelets right there, and they’re so delicious.

A cozy, relaxing place, close to spots for drinks and food. There weren’t any hot springs, though.
